Assessing Students’ Performance in the Geography Department to Improve Future Teaching and Learning Strategies.
Nicola Gibberd
This presentation will showcase how the Geography department at Redhill School uses mark reports and analysis of such reports for Grades 10 to 12 to create these strategies. The reports track students where marks, circumstances, curriculum, type of pedagogy, and type of students and general cohort are taken into consideration. The data from the reports are analytical tools that the department can utilise and create the change that is needed for each student and the cohort. In the last four reporting cycles, it was apparent that certain concepts and teaching methods needed to be refined. By tracking a specific student through the reports, a noticeable change emerged in results with necessary interventions that took place. Findings and future teaching and learning strategies will highlighted in the presentation.
